Vegan MoFo

Well obviously I haven't been doing a very good job in particapating. I'ver cooked less this month than I ever have in my life! Well I decided I should do the questionary like all the other hip kids out there.

1. Favorite non-dairy milk?
Vanilla Silk

2. What are the top 3 dishes/recipes you are planning to cook?
Pomegranet Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie, Any kind of vegan cheese cake, Vegan Mac and Cheese.

3. Topping of choice for popcorn?
Salt (the popcorn has to be cooked in coconut oil)

4. Most disastrous recipe/meal failure?
Eggplant Tamarind Rissoto (this was BAD!)

5. Favorite pickled item?
...pickles :) (cucumbers)

6. How do you organize your recipes?
Three ring binder

7. Compost, trash, or garbage disposal?
If I had a composter, or garden I would compost. But I most use a garbage disposal.

8. If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 foods...what would they be (don't worry about how you'll cook them)?
Apples, Sweet potatoes, Chocolate

9. Fondest food memory from your childhood?
Helping my mom make lefsa

10. Favorite vegan ice cream?
Rice Dream Mint Paties, Or one of the vast assortment of Turtle Mountain flavors.

11. Most loved kitchen appliance?
Oven/Stove

12. Spice/herb you would die without?
Basil
13. Cookbook you have owned for the longest time?
Teenage Vegetarian Cookbook

14. Favorite flavor of jam/jelly?
Pear Hazelnut

15. Favorite vegan recipe to serve to an omni friend?
Any of Isa's Cupcakes (different flavors depending on what they like - turtle(my own), boston cream pie, and coconut lime are all hits)

16. Seitan, tofu, or tempeh?
Tofu because of its versatility. It can be used for eggs, dairy, and protien. For just a meat substitute it would definatly be tempeh. I could eat that stuff raw!

17. Favorite meal to cook (or time of day to cook)?
Late, after dinner.. 7 or 8 p.m. I like to make desert

18. What is sitting on top of your refrigerator?
There is no space between my fridge and the cabinate that is above it. In the cabinate there is a crock pot, pasta maker, and various alcoholic beverages.

19. Name 3 items in your freezer without looking.
Figs, Flaxseed, French Vanilla Soy Dream

20. What's on your grocery list?
Mushrooms. Thats it so far. It will grow a lot though.

21. Favorite grocery store?
Whole Earth Grocery. Greatest little co-op of all time, run (mostly) by a bunch of college kids.

22. Name a recipe you'd love to veganize, but haven't yet.
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies with White Chocolate Glaze. Cool Whip, Marshmellow, Apple, Nut Salad. (I'm not sure what it is called. Do you know what I am talking about?)

23. Food blog you read the most (besides Isa's because I know you check it everyday). Or maybe the top 3?
Fat Free Vegan

24. Favorite vegan candy/chocolate?
Plain old 52% chocolate discs from the co-op. Or chocolate chips from Fresh and Natural

25. Most extravagant food item purchased lately?
Chestnuts

Whats your favorite thing to have for lunch?
Hummus, Rice Crackers, Carrots

#22 - Taffy Apple Salad? I think everyone's grandmother has made this at one time or another. Cool whip, pineapple, apples, marshmallows, walnuts, etc. Yeah, that was good stuff...
